Ramadan 2023: The first issue of Ramadan Journal is out

The first issue of the Ramadan Journal is now out. You can read it online.

Our Ramadan Journal project was a project we had initiated during the COVID-19 pandemic, and one we could have never assumed would grow so vast!

The Ramadan Journal’s roots are in the belief that “Ramadan” is more than a lunar month in which Muslims fast as a solitary act of worship; more so, it is a month of action and community. Our Ramadan Journal is aimed at all. For us at the Dialogue Society, we have coined this “Ramadanification,” a phrase we refer to a lot throughout Ramadan and will do so too in this journal. How does one become Ramadan? What are the values of Ramadan? And what implications do these have for our role in our wider societies as Muslims: these are questions we ponder over. Our journal, however, as mentioned above, is for all; whether you are a Muslim, of another or hold no faith at all, whatever your lifestyle, you are welcome.

Thank you for embarking on our journal journey this Ramadan with us. We hope you enjoy reading and engaging with the material in our journal (and even have a moment to enjoy the delicious recipes or creative arts!).
